The IT department uses deployment methods to enable MDATP (and uninstall Symantec Endpoint Protection, if necessary) on all faculty/staff workstations. No download is necessary to protect your university-owned computer. MDATP is supported on both Windows and Mac OS based systems. Marshall University is phasing in the use of Microsoft Defender Advanced Threat Protection (MDATP) on all university-owned computers, which will replace Symantec Endpoint Protection. Check out the list below for information on how to keep your computer protected. The MU Information Security office strongly recommends the use of antivirus software.
